PresidentJackie Close – Jacqueline Close, MTCM, EAMP has been a Yi Ren Qi Gong student since 2012 and is a certified instructor. As an acupuncturist and herbalist she has found that studying and practicing Yi Ren Qi Gong has given her a much deeper and more practical understanding of Chinese medicine. She has personally experienced the benefits of Qi Gong and believes it can have an extremely positive impact on health.
Jackie has been in private practice in Seattle since 2002. She hopes to bring her knowledge of owning and operating a successful Chinese medical clinic to the organization.
Lauri Amidon – Lauri is board vice president of the Institute of Qigong and Integrative Medicine and a certified Yi Ren Qigong instructor at IQ&IM’s Center in Bothell, WA. Lauri has served on the Board as a director and President. She also serves as an assistant to Dr. Sun in seminars and mentors in the Teacher Certification Training Program. She has been studying with Dr. Guan-Cheng Sun, the founder of Yi Ren Qigong and IQ&IM for 10 years. She has also been involved with several research studies looking at the effects of Yi Ren Medical Qigong on chronic health conditions, including chronic back pain and type 2 diabetes. In addition to Qigong, Lauri has an extensive background in dance, yoga, pilates and herbal medicine.
Brandea Paulk has practiced in the Seattle area for 12 years as a Physician Assistant in Oncology, Surgery, and Urgent Care. She was drawn to Yi Ren Qigong in 2014, and early in her practice had a remarkable healing experience with Dr. Sun that was unexplained by “conventional” medicine. She has since studied at IQ&IM to certify as a teacher with hopes to help facilitate that healing in others, helping them realize that the potential to heal themselves with this practice is real and within reach. One of her main goals is to help bridge the gap in understanding and communication between Eastern and Western medicine practitioners, and to promote outreach to those who would benefit from this great practice.
