Internal Martial Arts Series
Chinese martial arts are also commonly known as Wushu (武术) or Kung Fu. The Chinese character Wu (“武”martial) literally means “stop fighting to bring peace.” In traditional internal martial arts training, Wu De (武德-the virtues of martial arts) or the martial code of conduct, has been strongly emphasized. In the Yi Ren system of Qigong and internal martial arts, Wu De is the expression of the virtues such as respect, humility, righteousness, trust, courage, loyalty, dignity and so forth. Internal martial arts practitioners are encouraged to prevent passive reactive behavior and misuse of internal power and strength, including bullying others or insulting others or any kind of abuse. The goal of internal martial arts practice is to remove the internal unhealthy energies such as anger, rage, hate, addictions, etc. out of the body or make the internal energies surrender, thus allowing good health, strength, internal peace and freedom of the authentic self, the soul.
